What I offer
I scope work around what you actually need, not around a package I’m trying to sell. Sometimes that’s a full strategy. Sometimes it’s four hours of counsel that gets you to a confident decision faster.
-
I work with clients to develop communications strategies, messaging frameworks and digital strategies that align with their mission and reach their audiences effectively. This includes brand strategy, communications planning, message development and SEO consulting. Some communications plans are built for a team twice the size of the one that has to run them. I build plans that fit the staff, budget and hours you actually have.
-
From website redesigns and content strategy to digital ads and social media management, I help organizations build and strengthen their online presence. I also specialize in web accessibility consulting to help ensure digital content is inclusive and compliant. I’ve been through redesigns from both sides, as the client and as the consultant, so I know where they tend to get stuck and what it takes to keep them moving.
-
Web copy, blog posts, email campaigns, speeches, print. I write in your organization’s voice, not mine, and what you get back is ready to publish. I also edit and proofread, whether the draft started with me or with your team.
-
I develop media strategies and press materials and help organizations navigate media opportunities to amplify their message and reach new audiences. Sometimes the strongest move is not to respond at all. I’ll tell you when I think that’s the case and walk you through the reasoning.
-
I provide strategic counsel and communication support to leadership, including speech writing, message development and guidance on navigating complex communications challenges. Often this looks like being the person a leader can think out loud with before anything gets written down.
How I work
I start by listening — to your goals, your audience and the internal context that never makes it into a brief. Then I come back with a point of view and we talk it through. You know your organization better than I ever will, so my job is to bring the outside perspective, the research and the experience, and to keep adjusting as we learn more together.
You can expect clear communication, thoughtful problem-solving, organized project management and work that’s polished and ready to use.
I’ll also tell you when I don’t think something is worth doing, and I’ll always connect that back to what you’re trying to accomplish. That’s part of what you’re paying for.
